Directions
The Institute for Adaptive Mechanical Systems is located within the premises of the Max-Planck-Institute.
All visitors must enter through the main entrance at Heisenbergstraße 1.
- Students attending lectures, exams, or office hours may present their student ID at the entrance and proceed directly.
- All other visitors are required to register at the front desk.
After entering the building, turn right and walk past the open area until you reach the second staircase.
- The office and laboratories of the Chair for Legged Robotic Systems are located on the 5th and 4th floors, respectively.
- To reach the Chair for Functional Soft Robotic Matter, continue walking to the third staircase; their rooms are located on the 4th floor.

Our Secondary Location on the Vaihingen Campus
The Institute for Adaptive Mechanical Systems has a secondary location on the University of Stuttgart’s Vaihingen campus. The room is primarily used as a laboratory and office-hours room for our courses.
Address: Pfaffenwaldring 9, Room 2.268, 70569 Stuttgart.
Please coordinate with a member of our institute before visiting, as our secondary location is not always staffed.
