Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of undergraduate students from Purdue University (USA) to our department. The visit was part of an academic tour aimed at introducing the students to leading research institutions in Germany and giving them first-hand insight into cutting-edge scientific work.
The day began with a series of short presentations by our faculty members, Prof. David Remy and Jun. Prof. Philipp Rothemund, who introduced their current research. These talks provided the visitors with an overview of the interdisciplinary nature of our work and the real-world impact of our scientific projects.
Following the presentations, the students toured our laboratories, located within the Max Planck Institute Stuttgart campus. They had the opportunity to see some of our key experimental facilities, interact with doctoral researchers and postdocs, and observe ongoing projects in action. The visit offered a behind-the-scenes look at how both fundamental and applied research is conducted in our labs on a daily basis.
We greatly value such international academic exchanges, which not only foster dialogue between institutions but also inspire young scientists to think globally and collaboratively. We thank the Purdue group for their visit.
